Huntington Beach was wonderful. The original plan for yesterday was that everyone would go. But everyone bailed out and no one went. So, I instead went with Sarah. She lives in a nice area, though she hates to admit it. But I was driving and saw some asian girl outside taking pictures of the shrubbery I believe. So then we were on our way down the long boulevard of the beach. That was pleasant. We were listening to Waking Ashland in the car, and the song that was on was Edinger. And a major coincidence occurred. While it was playing, we drive past Edinger Ave. ! What are the odds? I'd say pretty slim to none. Then we saw some interesting street names. One of them was Hazard Ave. I would LOVE to live on that street. Then we saw another street. It was Heil Ave. But the dot on the "I" looked connected so it looked like hell street. So then we arrived in Huntington Beach and we parked in front of some house where this little kid was standing. We walked away as fast as we could because we were afraid he might chase us riding on his tricycle trying to bust some caps with his buzz lightyear guns. Then we went to eat at Aloha Grill, where we sat near some FOBs. That was an interesting meal. It started off kind of awkward, but things got better. I don't think I have laughed so much from eating lunch at a restaurant. I think we laughed more than we ate. After that, we went back to the car to put our food back. And then I lost my sunglasses. So sad. Then we filled up the meter for parking and walked around. When we came back, I never got so scared in my life. I reached into my pockets, wondering where my keys went. It wasn't in my pockets. Scared to OMG. I looked over to my door and there they were. I left them there! I cannot believe they were there the whole time. I just wanted to kill myself after that. After, we headed to the beach, in the scorching sand. The journey to find a spot was hell. Walking through that sand was like walking on hot coals. We finally find a spot and settle. I finally went boogie boarding for the first time. I was so horrible at it, but then I got a hang of things. After I went back to base to relax. But it was hard to relax because Sarah kept throwing sand on my towel. And the war had begun. But it was all good and fun. Then we had the notion of building a giant turtle in the sand. We realized it was unattainable, so we decided to build a sand couch. After long hours of digging through the sand and running to the water and back, we finally made it. It was one of my proudest achievements to date! So we chilled on it for a while. Then we headed back into the water. It was really cold, but it felt very refreshing against the hot weather. I boogie boarded again and I actually rode the waves. Sarah and I got pretty thrashed by the waves. We probably swallowed 50 gallons of water. After a while of that, we decided to pack our stuff and head on over to the bonfire pits. We, no wait I, wasn't prepared for it. I did not bring enough wood for the fire. And we only had matches but nothing to start the fire. We completely ran out of matches and still no fire. We felt so bad and embarrassed. But there were some nice people near us who helped us. We barely had a fire going and when it was about to be doomed to failure, the fire broke out! It was awesome. I felt bad for Sarah because she was the one maintaining the fire and getting burned by the cinders while I made the ugly s'mores. It ended up being very enjoyable, but I accidentally scared Sarah and I felt bad. But we were able to get going because the stupid security guy with the lame voice kept telling everyone to leave. So then we left and I dropped Sarah off in front of her nice house. Then I went back home. I hope to beach it again with her. It was full of laughs and interesting events.
