recap of the weekend.

friday was really inspiring.
it really pushed me further into loving landscape architecture.
i love buildings and arch, but the landscape is probably what i love more.
so we went on a class field trip to Lotus Land in Santa Barbara.

Lotus Land

arbor with tea trees wrapping over them
entrance into the gardens.

forgot what it was called...but it was HUGE!

floating plants.

plants can create really nice textures. tiger grass.

koi pond

forgot the name of this tree, but really interesting branches

natural amphitheater and funny little sculptures

huge motorized clock with the astronomical zodiac

some topiary work

cactus gardens

another arbor wrapped in lemon trees

insane pebble design

really tall cactus type of plant with insane drooping branches

dragon tree

there are too many pics to post so i'll end it with this lovely sculpture from the japanese garden.

Lotus Land was such a beautiful place. Totally worth another visit.

the rest of the weekend was kinda gay.
spent the whole saturday at home.
i couldn't drive anywhere, and all my friends were busy.
spent quality time with the family.

sunday was a little better.
went to church, then ate some kare-kare!!!
the aureus kids came to visit.
it was so good to see them again.
they're growing so fast.

time seems to go by really fast.
this school year is almost done.
sometimes if time could only stand still...
